Amanda Frontany is a freelance writer, blogger, editor, radio dj from Brooklyn, New York City
She has interviewed House music icon and Honeycomb Music, LLC. CEO Josh Milan and Canadian vocalist, songwriter and producer Jaidene Veda. Amanda has also interviewed singer Kia Stewart and poet Janine Lyons, both for the Honeycomb Music label website.
Most recently, Amanda has self-published interviews via her own website with Chicago producer/DJ Elbert Phillips, South African multi-instrumentalist Shamrock Guitor, New York City producer/label owner Mikki Afflick, the great Dr. Bob Jones and Honeycomb Music percussion duo Ritmo Y Tumbao, who are Dres Ramos and Cuba Ulacia.
Amanda is extremely proud to have served as book editor of “Free the Music Business: Tips and Tales from an Indie Music Nerd” [2018] written by author and label owner/label manager, Adam Cruz [Mixtape Sessions and Honeycomb Music]. In this behind-the-scenes book, Cruz takes the reader on a “fast-paced journey through the complicated world of streaming music.” Amanda is a passionate music collector who enjoys crate-digging for rare vinyl. She firmly believes in supporting and promoting independent music labels and artists.
Amanda has been a frequent guest music selector on Josh Milan’s weekly Internet radio show, the Honeycomb Music Non Radio Lunchbreak, which airs on Mondays at 12 p.m. EST on Mixlr and on Sundays at 9 p.m. GMT on Mi-Soul Radio,
Outside of writing about music, Amanda is an educator who has served the New York City public school system for more than 22 years.
