New York’s own Doug Gomez started his career in 1987. As a true New Yorker of Colombian roots, his love for drums and sophisticated melodies led him to be embrace the path of Deejaying and production. He worked for ZYX Music & Waako Records from 1994 to 2005 as A&R/promotions director. A label that had artists such as Kings of Tomorrow (Sandy Rivera), Lenny Fontana, StoneBridge, Jeremias Santiago, Kenny Carpenter, Mood II Swing & Louie “Balo” Guzman to name a few.

In 2007, he teamed up with a friend to create the nudisco sound under the alias DRRTYHAZE. This venture got them signed and remixes on labels like Gomma (Germany), TIRK (UK), and Nang amongst others. After the release of a Drrtyhaze album, Doug decided to go solo and express his true inner self with the more organic, soulful house, combined with afro latin rhythms. A sound he was immersed into all his life in NYC as a DJ and a club goer at such parties as Shelter, Body & Soul and many more.
Doug’s love for what he affectionately calls “That New York sound” was evident on his 2016 releases on MoBlack, Cabana Recordings, Offering recordings, Sole Channel, United Music Records, Tambor Music, King Street Sounds, Plastik People, Global Diplomacy and many more. All of which led him to be nominated # 9 on the traxsource.com, top afrohouse producers of 2016.
2017 saw the start of his own label Merecumbe Recordings, an outlet not just for his own music, but from current and upcoming producers. A label dedicated to the soul and sabor of latin and afro sound with such producers and remixers as N’Dinga Gaba, Mark Francis, Soultronixx, Max Marinacci, George Lesley, RadioLab and many more to come.
